Shopping for the latest trends can be ridiculous now days. Major fashion designers and big brands went from having 4 seasons of new must have items to now having 52 seasons . Which if everyone is up on the times that is roughly a trend per week a year! With that being said one can break the bank trying to be stylish, not to mention clothing overloads our landfills. I for one would like to be a more eco-friendly babe!! These are items that can easily be recycled or donated to those in need.. What the hell does this all have to do with Dad Jeans you may ask?
I was so trying to think of a way to bridge the gap from shopping and communicating more with the ones l love. I feel as a society we tend to be more disconnected to our elders as our communication patterns have swayed to a different path! So how the hell can you bond with someone or just understand them better! Dig through their closet duh, ( I know my parents very very well, also we communicate greatly) my parents were so amused as I told them I’m shopping the closet! So I dug through their closet top to bottom, I didn’t fit into my mom’s jeans! I did find two amazing skirts however. I fit in to my DAD’s Jeans, and boy did I feel fly! I believe they were Levi’s 505s but I don’t know men’s jeans!!
I showed up to dinner wearing an outfit not purchased by me but purchased by my parents. My parents laughed hysterically when I told them I was wearing Dad’s Jeans! I felt confident and fashionable and super thrifty! They let me keep all the articles of clothing except for this amazing coat! I explored my amazing hometown of Houston, TX. Feeling super cool and comfy!
So i’ve decided to start a challenge shop your parents closet, with permission of course! Tag me in your pics i’d love to see what everyone comes up with!!!
You may find a killer pair of dad jeans like I did!!
